CHARACTERISTICS
EPK 520 satisfies a number
of requests in the insulation testing field. |
| Since EPK
appliance incorporates an off-line timer, it is
possible for it to perform the applied voltage
test in different ways, as shown
below. After reaching the needed voltage
value for the ongoing test, one switches the START
TIMER button, as to make the
test time record start, at the end
of which the appliance
will stop the H.V. supply and will get ready for a prospective
following test.
Test time record and test voltage start at the same time when the two START and START TIMER buttons are switched and when voltage is increased by means of a changer. It is possible to perform tests for an indefinite time, without using the timer and switching only the START and OFF buttons. The appliance also has a button to show on the display the value of the current of dispersion present during the test. The borderline value of the current of dispersion is settable through a switcher with two different thresholds of intervention, after which TE voltage value for that moment is stored and TEST voltage supply is cut. Thanks to an internal device, after the test, both with positive or negative result, high voltage cut happens whenever network voltage reaches O level, thus avoiding dangerous overvoltage which could damage the tested object. Besides the applied voltage test it is possible to perform the destructive test too. The use of this last test avoids the protection device intervention, so that the largest available power is employed in order to show, in faulty pieces, the point where there is a decay in insulation. |
